Vanity Fair Inspired Imagery for Law Firms and Leadership Teams
We were recently commissioned to create dynamic editorial corporate group photography in Melbourne for Immigration Lawyers Augustine & Co, an incorporated legal practice founded in the winter of 2019 and specialising in Australian immigration and citizenship law.
Their Principal, Calvin Augustine, wanted imagery that felt distinctive, confident and timeless, something that reflected the authority of the firm while still feeling modern and approachable. The result was a dynamic editorial corporate group photography conceptthat would not look out of place in a magazine feature.
The Vanity Fair inspired team image was carefully rehearsed and captured as a single frame in our studio. Lighting, body language and spacing were all directed with precision to create a powerful, cohesive composition. The background was subtly enhanced in post-production to elevate the scene while maintaining a believable, refined image. It wasn’t a quick snap; it was finely crafted!
A series of individual portraits was also created to showcase what we like to call legal confidence, strong, composed and authentic expressions that communicate authority without arrogance.
The entire team was delighted with the outcome, and we look forward to collaborating again.
Ultra Stylish Corporate Group Photography for Discerning Clients
Following that commission, Latifa & Co Migration Agents engaged us to create an ultra-stylish Vanity Fair-style image for their all-female leadership team.
My former experience in fashion photography made this a natural fit. For years I directed professional models on set, shaping posture, expression and energy to create striking editorial imagery. Today, I bring that same direction to real professionals, CEOs, lawyers and leadership teams, guiding them so they look polished, confident and completely authentic.
These are not actors or fashion models. They are real experts in their field. When creating their dynamic editorial corporate group photography in Melbourne, the goal was to elevate them without compromising their credibility. Sometimes we also perform subtle head swaps to achieve the strongest possible final image. In almost every group session, someone blinks, looks away, pulls a distracted expression or reacts to a colleague at the wrong moment. By capturing multiple frames, we can select each person’s best expression and merge them into one flawless final photograph, like this one!
Complex Composites, Seamless Results
Not every team can be in the same place at the same time.
For Morgan Stanley Hong Kong, we created a composite image of ten executives built from four sub groups. They were only in Melbourne for the morning, and timing was tight. Each subgroup was photographed separately under carefully matched lighting conditions, then meticulously combined into one seamless, powerful image.
The final result looked like everyone had been photographed together in a single sitting!
This is where dynamic editorial corporate group photography in Melbourne truly stands apart from standard team photos. It requires planning, precision and post-production expertise.
The result is natural, not artificial. Simply everyone at their best.
Studio or Location, Always Carefully Directed
Whether photographed in our Melbourne studio or on location at your office premises, these sessions are carefully designed rather than rushed. Lighting is sculpted. Wardrobe is considered. Posing is directed. The final image is built with care and intention.
This approach suits law firms, executive boards and leadership teams who want to present their team’s strength, cohesion and authority in a single compelling image.
If your organisation is ready to move beyond standard staff photos and invest in dynamic editorial corporate group photography in Melbourne, we would love to help you create imagery that makes your team look as exceptional as they truly are.

FAQ.
Staff should be briefed well in advance on the dress code, whether that’s formal, business casual, or creative. They should also be advised on grooming, including whether hair and makeup is recommended, and whether they should book a haircut a few days before the shoot. It’s important everyone arrives on time, allows their full allocated session time, and sticks to the schedule. Most importantly, staff should be encouraged to relax and trust the photographer’s direction to achieve the best result.
Group photos generally take about 30 minutes per team, ensuring the composition is balanced and everyone looks their best.
For individuals in the studio, each team member typically has a relaxed 30-minute session. This allows time for a short conversation about their preferred expression, professional direction during the shoot, and an opportunity to view and select their favourite image while it is edited in real time.
On location, individual sessions are usually reduced to around 15 minutes per person, with final editing completed back at the studio on a high-resolution monitor.
Professional attire is important and should reflect your firm’s culture. For some firms, a formal look is preferred, such as a suit, tie, and jacket for men, or a tailored blazer with a blouse or professional dress for women. In many IT, software, energy, or engineering firms, an open-neck shirt with a blazer works well for men, while women can opt for a smart blouse with a blazer or a professional top. In creative firms, smart casual attire that shows personality is acceptable for all genders. The key is to brief staff in advance so everyone knows what to expect. Remember that group photos are often taken from the hips up, so dress accordingly. Avoid stripes, patterns, and visible logos, stick to solid colours, and if in doubt, bring a few outfit options. See our What to Wear page for more info.
A studio will almost always deliver the most premium results, as it is purpose-built for photographing people every day. There are no interruptions from meetings, emails, or unexpected visitors, so each staff member can stay focused on the task at hand, getting the best possible image, and having it edited immediately afterwards, while they watch.
That said, very good staff and team photos can absolutely be created on location in your office, provided there is a dedicated private space (ideally around 5m x 4m) with room for lighting equipment, a mirror for final checks, and a quiet environment where staff can be photographed without interruptions, However, final editing is best done off-site afterwards.
